Parnell: Bowling gives me more pleasure

South African pacer Wayne Parnell's second season at Tridents was standout for him personally, the speedster from Port Elizabeth ending as the leading wicket taker for the Barbados Tridents.
Not only did the pacer pick up 11 important wickets but he also contributed with the bat and rose up to the occasion whenever required. He has the fifth best average in the squad for the season, above the likes of Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran and Eoin Morgan. “It was crucial for me to make a contribution with the bat, Polly (Kieron Pollard) knows that I have batted up the order and lower down,” said Parnell who scored 93 runs this season with a highest score of 44* which helped Tridents win against Trinbago Knight Riders at the Kensington Oval.
But when asked to choose between batting and bowling, the southpaw all-rounder was quite straight forward with his choice, “Bowling gives me more pleasure. Getting wickets, you can celebrate.”
Parnell also went onto credit skipper Kieron Pollard for his improved performances, “I think when we’ve played badly, Polly’s message has been to just keep calm and stay level.”
Wayne Parnell also added another record to his name as he got the most number of dot balls this season for the Tridents with a total of 89 dot balls from the 10 matches in which he bowled.
