The Barbados Tridents had to let go of Raymon Reifer after the all-rounder earned a call up to represent the West Indies on a tour of England. Though disappointed in losing him for the Tridents, coach Robin Singh was positive about his national selection.
“While it is sad that we lost the services of Raymon for this year’s event we are delighted to see him getting a place in the West Indies squad for the prestigious tour of England,” said Robin Singh as quoted
Replacing Raymon will be Tion Webster, an exciting young talent from Trinidad and Tobago. The 21 year old left handed batter has been a part of the Queens Park set up and was later fast tracked into the first team.
Having made his debut in the first class circuit in the recently concluded four day series, Webster will be an asset for the Tridents team with a long term perspective. In the two first class matches that he played Tion has already scored a century and claimed two wickets.
Commenting on the selection, Tridents coach Robin Singh said, “We look forward to welcoming Tion to the Tridents family and we are sure he will be a success for our team and in his future career.”
